MyTakeHomePaycheck.com is a free take-home pay calculator for tax year 2026. Enter a salary or hourly wage, pick a state and filing status, and see what actually lands in your bank account after federal income tax, state income tax, Social Security, Medicare, and state payroll taxes.
An independent educational tool — not a government agency
MyTakeHomePaycheck.com is an independent educational website. It is not a government agency and is not affiliated with the IRS, the Social Security Administration, or any state revenue department. It is also not a tax advisory firm: it does not provide tax, financial, or legal advice, and its calculators are no substitute for a qualified tax professional.
How the numbers are built
- Versioned dataset. Every state page is generated from a single 2026 tax dataset covering all 50 states plus the District of Columbia — brackets, standard deductions, personal exemptions, employee payroll taxes, and local-tax notes, each with published sources.
- Federal figures from the source. 2026 IRS inflation adjustments (Rev. Proc. 2025-32) for brackets and standard deductions, and the 2026 Social Security wage base ($184,500) from the SSA.
- Regenerated, not hand-edited. The 51 state pages are produced by a generator script, so a dataset update rebuilds every page identically — no stale figures lingering on one page.
- Honest about limits. Where 2026 figures are still pending official publication, the page says so. The main calculator supports standard or itemized deductions, pre-tax 401(k)/HSA/health contributions, the Child Tax Credit, and employee-paid state payroll taxes — and discloses its simplifications in the calculation notes under every result. Local income taxes are not modeled.
